Textiles Construct Project: Contextual Research

Clouds: Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec.
I have recently come across two designers Ronan & Bouroullec who's particular pieces of work titled 'Clouds' really appeals to me, the image above shows one of the pieces from the cloud collection, i like how this 3D piece looks like it has been sewn or stitched along the black folded lines and feel i could adapt this look to one of my constructed samples.

Clouds.

These small scale pieces from Ronan & Bouroullec's cloud collection made me think about how my textiles samples could be twisted separately and then clustered together to create a cloud formation, much like these pieces above have been clustered and folded together to create each cloud design.

Textiles: Final Tropical Forest Prints

I looked through my portfolio filled with my collection of possible Tropical Forest prints and edits and chose two final print designs, i then applied these final chosen prints to a piece of clothing to allow myself and viewers to visualise what my prints would look like on an actual garment.

Textiles: Final Electric Neon Prints

After looking through my portfolio of electric neon prints and photoshop edits i picked two final designs to represent my electric neon line, i then applied these two final designs onto a piece of clothing giving myself and viewers a visual of how my prints would look on an actual garment.

Original Print.
At the last minute i looked back at this print photographed above and decided to add it to my short list of designs for my Electric Neon collection, i loved how the direct dyes were streaked across the fabric like an in motion photograph of city lights, however i decided i did not want to edit this print using photoshop as i felt it was best presented in its original state.

I decided to add these electric bolt print designs to my short list for my Electric Neon collection, however when using photoshop on these designs the edits were not as strong and on point as the originals and so i came to the conclusion to stick to these original prints designs.

Original Print.
This print above has been selected as part of my short list of designs for my Tropical Forest collection, i have used photoshop tools and effects to alter my design slightly creating other possible print designs pictured below.
