Ceramics: Contextual Research

Indiscipline.

This series of porcelain pieces are titled Indiscipline by artist Quentin de Coster, these pieces really stood out to me as they aim to question the boundaries of Art and Design which has been a key issue discussed within a recent art history seminar. Each one of these objects has been created using the same mould, but as they have been removed from the mould each one has been deliberately deformed,  as these pieces are all functional they are Design orientated however as each one was removed deliberately without taking care to how the piece comes out of the mould it has been left to the action of 'Chance' making them cross the border into Art. I like the general idea of having a collection of pieces for one design with varying forms and i could use this within my ceramics while creating my body piece.
