Textiles: Experimenting

Using my visual research on my mood board i began to sketch the designs found on a butterfly wing in an abstract way, these abstract shapes were then cut out and laid on to my fabric, a silk screen was then placed on top and a yellow pigment dye was then used to produce the first layer of my print. To create the second layer i moved my stencils around and a baby blue coloured pigment dye was then used to produce the second layer, for my third layer i again moved my stencils and used an orange pigment dye over the top, this print is quite abstract but the colours that have been layered look quite tropical and could be worked into or edited later on.
