Ceramics: Samples



Ceramic Balls.

I decided to start creating small samples out of clay to get an idea of how my design could be formed, to begin with i created a number of small clay balls all varying in size as shown in the photograph above.

Ceramic Forms.

I selected four or five balls of clay at random and began to cluster them together before smoothing over the gaps between each connected ball, the results of this method are pictured above. I like my first collection of pieces as they look like morphing forms, the rounded smooth edges also appeal to me as they remind me of cloud formations and i also like how they all range in size and shape making each form unique.
