| Reactive Dye. |
Using my previous sketches as inspiration i created a large A3 stencil out of assotate, i then placed my stencil onto a yellow piece of fabric which i had previously dyed in one of the dye baths before placing a silk screen on top. I used black reactive dyes to create the first layer of my print, however the black reactive dye seemed to create a grey charcoal effect, i then cleaned my screen and stencil before adding a red layer of reactive dye on top, the photo above shows my finished sample.

I cut a small piece of the pink fabric which i had dyed in one of the dye baths previously and placed it under my large stencil and silk screen, i then mixed up a small amount of maroon coloured reactive dye and used it to create the first layer of my print, i then mixed a small amount of bright red reactive dye and dabbed it onto my stencil, this time i didn't use my silk screen as i simply pressed down on my stencil to apply the red dye on top which created a nice red blotchy effect. The photo above shows my finished sample, i think if i was using this pink material in the future i would use black dyes on top to make the pink really stand out.
