Ceramics: Press Moulds

Samples in clay blocks.
I decided to change the direction of my project slightly by starting to creating press moulds of my pieces, to begin  this process i first picked five of my ceramic forms at random and placed them precisely half way into a small blocks of clay making sure each one is level as shown above.

First half of mould setting.
I boarded up each piece with small wooden planks and used clay along the rims of each wooden piece to secure them in place, i then mixed 1.5lbs of plaster and half a pint of water together until the consistency was right, this mixture was then poured over each of my five boarded up pieces and left to set.
